I'm back! This time with the lyrics to the version Timon and Pumbaa sing! It's on the same video as the original "Can you feel the love tonight?" and appears just after that finishes.

Lyrics:

TIMON:
If I said I loved you

PUMBAA:
Huh?

TIMON:
Had you on my brain

PUMBAA:
Hey!

TIMON:
It would mean a romantic atmosphere... Had rendered me insane!

PUMBAA:
Yep

TIMON:
That's only an example, it don't apply to us

PUMBAA:
(Sigh)
But over there, it's a different story

TIMON:
And one we must discuss!

TIMON & PUMBAA:
Oh, can you feel the love tonight?
All the signs are there

PUMBAA:
A starry sky and tons of tenderness

TIMON:
Disaster in the air!
And if he falls in love tonight

PUMBAA:
Oh, No!

TIMON:
It can be assumed!

PUMBAA:
What?

TIMON:
His carefree days, with us are history

TIMON & PUMBAA:
In short, our pal is doomed!

Thanks for reading!!!
EndNote: LOL, I love this version! Putting the lyrics together gave me an excuse to watch it again! Still like the original & Movie versions though. :P

Thanks. To be honest, I never heard the early half of this song; just the later half after Timon and Pumbaa sing, "Oh, can you feel the love tonight?
All the signs are there" that was released on the 2003 DVD. Sure enough, there is actual storyboard footage of some of the deleted sequence:

And now, from the direction you're going, you don't have post the lyrics of "The Warthog Rhapsody" on a separate thread. We can find them here http://www.lionking.org/lyrics/ROTPL/WarthogRhapsody.html. Or "To Be King": http://lionking.wikia.com/wiki/To_Be_King Or the deleted Scar and Nala song: http://lionking.wikia.com/wiki/The_Madness_of_King_Scar_(deleted_version) :P

You can find the complete version of the Timon and Pumbaa CYFTLT on the laser disk behind-the-scenes. It appears right after the "original" version, because they are discussing the history of the song then.

According to Tim Rice, the movie version is version #15, while version #1 is in fact the one you hear in the credits (sung by Elton John). So what most people consider as the "original" (the video only labels it as 'early version') is at the earliest version #2.

This version was hilarious :P But I'm glad this didn't make it too the movie, because Simba and Nala don't sing in it.

Thanks for sharing. I read this article a while back that explained some of the history behind the song. Evidently Elton John was furious about the prospect of his song being used in that way, and that was part of the reason for changing it. I had never actually seen or heard the Timon & Pumbaa version though.

There was even a point in the production when the idea of even having "Can You Feel The Love Tonight" was questioned. Let's just say that Elton John got into more than one fight with the team in order to keep the song in.

Glad he won. :D

^Yes, I heard that. It would have been a disaster if it wasn't included.
