TLK trilogy returns to Disney Vault April 30th 2013

Well we knew this was coming of course. But I thought it would be worth mentioning. The Lion King (and presumably the sequels) are due to be placed back into the Disney vault on April 30th.
I'm going off the basis that most of you here are aware of what the vault is and what it means so this gives you about two months or just over two months to pick up the Diamond edition Blu Ray / DVD re release including the re released sequels.

And as another note: Lady And The Tramp is also going back into the vault on the same day, if anyone was interested in that.

I was already aware of that TLK movies were going back into moratorium in April, anyway. I really don't believe in the "Disney Vault", because I'm sure you can purchase the Blu-Ray and DVD copies of their movies on Amazon or eBay.

I don't think that Disney can actually stop the re-sale of already bought movies through the second-hand market. All it means is that you will not be able to buy a brand-new copy of The Lion King for another couple of years.

Personally, I thought that The Lion King was already in the vault. Guess not.

It's just so that they can keep the prices up high. They really only end up hurting themselves though.

For collectors, which most of us here are. That's the exact point. A 2nd hand copy has less pride in a collection than a new copy.
Then you've also got things like higher prices and disappearance of collector editions etc. there's more to it with TLK than other Disney movies because it was released in lots of formats and editions, all of which will be a bit of a pain to get hold of when it goes back to the vault.

Also, not everyone shops online, believe it or not (younger members here probably can't even) so they should probably buy it from a retailer while they can, yes?

I should probably get them while I can.

Flip is right, I can't shop online, although, I do know my mum's paypal account details...

But it won't work for me to buy them online *cough cough*collector*cough cough*

Well, I bought a copy of the old TLK DVD before the Diamond edition was released, and all I can say is that I probably won't be buying a second hand DVD ever again unless it's absolutely necessary. I strongly suspect that it had been chewed on my a dog....or a kid. Possibly both. The cover literally had large chunks missing. The disc worked fine though, which is what matters I guess....but still.

Yes, I hardly but second hand stuff unless I can see the condition it's in.

Sucks that the only place you can get the box set here is ebay.

And the Special Edition/Diamond Edition for all films all up is about $50 then what the box set is.

Eh, at least I still have my VHS.
