Hey, anyone seen this before? Its an alternate ending for the Lion King, which can be found on the rare Laserdisc edition.

Wow, I have never seen that before. Thats a bit darker, hehe. What happens at the end though? It looks like Nala fell down and Simba finds her. Was Simba supposed to survive that fall?

I want to buy that laserdisc Lion King, but I'd have to get a player lol.

It is, cause of the drawings and its really quite hard to see whats going on, I had to watch it again.

I thought that was Sarabi...cause she got hit by Scar....meh Im not really sure, cause we dunno how that scene takes off from the film. And yea Simba survives...they couldnt kill him lol

Thats really neat. That's Tima's work, right? I was just saying, it seems unlikely that a lion would survive that fall. They emphasized that in the real ending of TLK. Since it was hard to tell, I couldn't see Scar get engulfed by the flames either. Was that just the video uploader's belief or do they know for fact? Does the laser disc version explain all this stuff?! lol

Yeah the ending's confusing with the lion and lioness.... but it incorporated the "Good night, sweet prince" thing Disney thought about using since the movie was a lot like Hamlet. only Zazu isn't Nala's father

I don't know, Moka, Scar survives his fall in the real movie but the hyenas attack him and then they all get burned up. so I guess Simba could survive that the way Disney goes...injured, of course. and Scar's laughing and stuff seemed pretty mental, hahaha. I prefer the real ending. Scar gets caught up in his lies and Simba don't get thrown off a cliff.

Yeah definitely. Didn't Scar fall from a different part of Pride Rock? Possibly lower?

When Scar laughed like that it was a bit darker than his personality. I dunno, it just seemed really dark. Great find, Jenny.

Yea lol that was the laserdisc's explaination at the start of the video so yup Scar definately dies, I mean he killed Mufasa, he had to die lol, its just a bit much to actually show just like when the hyenas ate him so yea..

Scar's maniacal laughter was crazy man lol, but then..that kinda suits 'The Madness of King Scar' more. Though I do prefer the original ending aswell cause this ending wouldnt have the epic fight!

They did a really good job with that fight. Not too short, not too long. They made the characters seem much more like lions than humans (some animated films have their animals be way too much like humans). It was just really well done.

It was indeed! One of my favorite scenes definately, animated and being in slow motion? awesome, and the great score playing...love it!
