He father turned him evil. I think Ahadi never liked scar, and favouritism to Muffy made scar have a lust for being king

That has been my theory for a while, actually, until I thought that perhaps his own brother was the one who gave him the scar, who knows? Perhaps if Mufasa used to be much more bussy as a cub, Scar would have more reasons to despise him and envy him like this. We could never know for sure, but I like to think that his mother, Uru, helped him cope, and he had no one to turn to when she died. Poor Taka.

I actually think it may be a bit of both. Maybe Ahadi and Mufasa are to blame? And besides Scar, Uru I my favourite char XD and I pretty much agree with yours.

Both it is, Ahadi mustn't have been too amused with having two princes and likely neglected or even abused Taka because he just saw him as 'dirt'. Due to this, Mufasa may have been affected by his father's behaviour and approval of him and became boastful, but matured over the years, making him the Mufasa we see in the movies. Perhaps the King and Queen argued often about the second prince, crippling his emotional state of mind... (Perhaps Uru's death was even related to this, but I see it as unlikely.) Then, perhaps little Taka turned to the hyenas, outcasts much like himself, and befriended them because he could relate to them. Even later in his teens, he manipulated them into working for him with promises of a new era in the Pridelands and etc, gaining support from them, but eventually losing his pride's respect for him when they found out about this.
