First of all,i'm making clear that i haven't watched the english version. But,at least at the version i watched,
which was translated in my mother tongue, there are several references to human items. For example, soon
after the beginning of the movie,Zazu talks about Scar being turned into a carpet. How do animals know
about human inventions?

I'm sure it was done for humor, and nothing more. However, with Zazu, it's possible he knows about a "throw rug" because he's flown around humans before.

Another human-related line said in the movie is when Timon says, the grubs "taste like chicken." I doubt Timon ever tasted chicken before, but it is merely meant to be a joke because the grubs taste crunchy like fried chicken.

This, and also it's like other threads I've seen here before. Disney wasn't really aiming for realism, people can go watch animal planet or go to the zoo for that. Part of the fun of having talking animals is make believing they think like people do. That's just what I think about it :)

Oh, and in Lion King 1.5 (3), Pumbaa said something about how he thought the remote he sat on was a brownie. It may have been a grub brownie...

Maybe they are animals but they still act like humans, and so our vocabulary
