When did TLK take place?

I've been thinking about this for a while now, and want to find out when exactly TLK took place. There are obviously no humans around, and the Pride Lands seem to be free of any deforestation, or desertification, so it's safe to say that this is before the colonizing of the African countries in the 1400's, and there is no mention of any people from anyone, so what do you think? :P

(Feel free to lock if this is a duplicate topic.)

Hmmm....it's an odd question really. I've pondered about this, and I came to a conclusion that it must be a paradise piece of land the humans haven't decided to destroy yet xD But your theory is a believable one, though I doubt Disney would of had much thought about it.

OMG, the issue of people JUST, JUST-JUST-JUST came up on Lea Halalela, another TLK forum.

Kanu just uploaded this: http://www.mediafire.com/?r9ratey552kppy1

It's from the Hakuna Matata story series & it's called "The Two Legged Creatures".

Another poster mentioned someone on Deviant Art who had somehow come up with Roman times, but I didn't check it out. I think it's overthinking it a tad, though.

I place the whole thing as happening in a human-free space in the late 80s/early 90's solely on account of the *very* arcane, very esoteric, and ~deeply intellectual~ criteria of Timon & Pumbaa knowing the Arsenio Hall cheer.

Not sure, I haven't really thought about it lol..but I don't see any reason to think that it took place before there even were any humans in the area. You can't make that assumption solely based on the fact that humans aren't mentioned in the film...after all they aren't important to the story at all, so why mention them?
