I was looking through old magazine articles about Simba's Pride when I came across something interesting. According to Darrell Rooney, the director of the sequel, Michael Eisner was responsible for a certain song being in the final cut of the movie. I was going to post the info, but I thought I could make a game out of it.

The poll ends on the 8th. I will then post the answer, along with proof to show I didn't make this up.

I'm going to have to go with "He lives in You." For one, it was the only song that existed before SP got the green light, and two: Michael Eisner could have had the song be placed in the movie as a tribute to Frank Wells, who died in 1994, when the first Lion King was being made.

It will probably take a few more days for me to come up with a final answer.

But using the process of elimination, I set up this list:

*"He Lives in You" - DGFone makes an interesting obsesrvation, so that's one of my top three choices.

*"We are One" - On thumper.net, it contains a transcript from a songwriter's convention below, in which lyricist Marty Panzer finished composing "We are One". It also goes on to states at the time, "It is unknown if this song, titled "We Are One", will be used in the movie, but all indications is that it will." So, I can probably rule "We are One" out.

*"My Lullably" - Almost every Disney movie at that time had a villian's song. So, I can safely rule that out

*"Upendi" - Since Simba's Pride is very dramatic and has very mature themes in its storyline, as the filmmakers intended to be, I wouldn't be suprised if Eisner wanted to add an upbeat, reggae song to add some lightheartedness into the movie.

*"Not One of Us" - Not sure. Will give it more thought.

*"Love Will Find a Way" - Almost every Disney movie at that time has a love song for the protaganist. I can rule that out.

I have no idea!

The answer was "He Lives In You". Congrats to DGFone and the other two who picked that option.

I would have guessed "He Lives In You" just based on the fact that it is part of the Broadway version of TLK.
