The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride - Deleted Scenes

So, what do you all think of the scenes that never made it into TLK2SP, hmm? Me personally, I think that the scene with Rafiki talking with Mufasa wasn't really needed and I don't think it would have made a whole lot of difference if it had made it into the final cut. ^^ The scene with Zira, Cubby Kovu, Cubby Vitani and Nuka on the other paw, totally should have made it into the final cut! It's just so awesome and gives a bit of insight to just how devoted Zira was towards Scar. ^^ It also was very amusing with Cubby Vitani and Nuka. lol. They acted like true siblings in that scene, although they did a nice job with portraying them in the actual movie too, but this one just seemed a bit funnier. lol. Next off, the alternative Nuka's Death scene is very moving in a way. While being a bit to dark for the actual movie, as in emotion and mood, I think it really shows just how much Nuka strived to please his mom. It also would have added in a great deal of emotion for Zira's character too, and would help support her dying hatred towards Simba after that. ^^ Lastly, the alternative ending for TLK2SP was really cool too. ^^ Honestly, I like the one they went with better, just because it does show a softer side of Zira right before she falls into the river below, but with the alternative ending, it's just pure evilness all the way, which worked for Scar, but I think for Zira, she really did have a softer side deep down, as we saw with Nuka's death. ^^ Well, now that I've blabbed on about this, what do you all think? ^^

The rafiki one at the beginning is so cute ^.^ Thanks for posting this up here for people that didn't see it in other places =D

lol, anytime Mike. ^^ Yeah, I'm sure there must be a couple of people on here who haven't seen these clips, although I wouldn't be surprised if everyone has. ^^

Well they're all in the this album of the MLK Theatre, so there shouldn't be any reason why no one has seen them! ^^

"Kovu's Bug" - I think this scene could've found a spot in the movie. I don't like the second half (when Zira starts saying "Remember...Scar took you in..."), but the first half could have fit somewhere nicely. I think it's important to see the scenes where Zira was training Kovu. There wasn't much of that.

"Nuka's Real Last Words" - Personally I like this scene. It caught me off guard and in the end I think it was well written. I think they should have included it. So what if it's a bit dark? So was TLK. I think it's never too early to start teaching children big life things. That's just me, I know the parenting community is probably mad at me for saying that. Seems like parents put their kids in a protective bubble of a perfect world until they get to college and they just break down. I've seen it happen. But whatever - that's just me and my opinions. Wow I got off track. Anyway, like KM said, this scene would've been interesting for character development.

"Another Cub" - This scene is kinda dumb. Later in the movie we learn that Mufasa plans to betroth Kovu and Kiara, but in this scene Mufasa is warning Rafiki about Kovu? That just doesn't make sense. Perhaps that's why they removed it.

"Simba's Cub" - Yeah I think this scene was interesting. It goes into more depth of character and explains things a bit better. Such as Zira ignoring Nuka, Nuka wanting to be king but not being able to, etc. It made me laugh when Nuka shoves Vitani backwards LOL

"Zira's Suicide" - This one actually sent chills down my spine. I think it's a bit unnecessary. We already know that Zira is crazy and full of rage. We don't need to know that she's that crazy. However, it would have definitely been more memorable O.o

Personally, I think the scene with Cubby Kovu and Zira could've fit somewhere in the film. When I first watched the deleted scenes, the Zira Suicide one was interesting to say the least. lol. To me, she seemed maniacal.

"Rafiki and Mufasa"-This scene was cute, but unecassary. Plus, why warn Rafiki about Kovu?? He's not the threat, Zira is.

"Kovu's bug"-I think this should have been included for laughs. It's also a great peek into how each character really is. Plus seeing Kovu's training was pretty cool ^^ And for some reason I couldn't stop laughing at the "A GIRL!??! xDDDD" part x'D I also love Nuka and Vitani fighting to tell Zira first xD

"Nuka's last words"-Urgh, this one was...a little freaky xD Just because it is though, doesn't mean they shouldn't of added it. We all know this is probably what Nuka was thinking anyways, so why not put it into words, right??

"Zira's suicide"-Okay...wow... ....she's a lil' TOO crazy in this scene. I don't like this scene because I don't believe she would kill herself. Nobody wants to die, no matter how crazy they are x) Hitler was insane and he still faught hard to live, so I think this was a little uncalled for xD Plus, movies should always end with a little remorse, not "wow, that was scary." Seeing Zira bring her paw out of the water was very sad, no matter how crazy that lioness I just think what they went with worked better^^

I agree about Zira's death. Though it seems a bit choppy now in the final version because they took that out

It's weird the the animators forgot to take out Zira's smile. In her death(In TLKSP) she falls and smiles. I never knew that until someone pointed it out.

Ok, let's see:

"Kovu's Bug" - I think this scene would fit nicely. Kovu's training would be cool to add in the final movie. It shows how innocent Kovu was.

"Nuka's Real Last Words" - This scene is really emotional. It would explain why Nuka is acting like that. it would fit well.

"Another Cub" - Weird scene. How Kovu can be a threat? He was a cub! I don't think this scene would fit.

"Simba's Cub" - Hilarious scene! It would fit really well! It explains a lot about the outlanders.

"Zira's Suicide" - Well, this scene is creepy. Zira is insane! But it would fit.
