Was she like this since birth? What do you think led to her being a total psychopath?

I have my personal opinon that she was somewhat crazy to begin with, but totally lost it when Scar died and she felt guilty.

I don't think she was crazy. Personally, I think she had some problems growing up. Maybe she was teased/abused/didn't have parents, I don't know. But Anyways, I think she just had a few problems and when Scar came along, she put all her faith, trust, and love in him. He was like the only reason she got through each day. So when he was killed, she just didn't have anything left. Like you know how she was almost happy to commit suicide in the original version.

I don't think she was born with it, maybe a violent childhood turned her bitter... then she met Scar, and was devastated by his death so much that she went insane. Nuka's death probably made her realise the consequences of her actions, but her hate for Simba was too strong to let go.

I don't really think she was born a psychopath lol, I reckon she went nuts when Scar died.

I also believe that it was Scar's death that sent her spiraling into insanity. She obviously loved him very deeply.

Close but no cigar. I think it was similar to that though, I think she was normal as lionesses go, but already wanted to be a Queen one day and was envious of the royal family. And then when she fell in love with Scar, who was pretty darn deranged, I think his evilness changed her mentality too, and had her believe that she really could just take the throne by force.

You have the same conniving mind that made Scar so powerful.

Therefore, we can assume that perhaps Scar had some kind of influence on her mentality, a bit like how politicians get followers. And that was what really changed her, but I do not think she was born with it to the degree we see in the film. ^^

Yeah, I don't think she was born nuts. I personally believe that the death of Scar made her go crazy. She obviously loved him very much and I guess loosing him was just to much for her to take.

Like what TPAM said, I think Zira was born normal, but went insane when Scar died.
