Was Zazu's role necessary for SP?

How would feel if he were removed, or would you not remove him at all?

I rather like him being in there, it would've been a tad strange if Simba didn't have his majordomo at his side IMO.

Agreed, not having him would be just... weird. He needed a bigger role... He's the majordomo, after all. You know, it's sad... He had a bigger role than NALA.

The mother of our main character. True that. I think Zazu's a cute little bird, don't see where the hate stems from.

I agree, Simba needs to have his majordomo, there is no way Timon and Pumbaa could have done his job. He did a better job of keeping an eye on Simba And Nala than Timon and Pumbaa did of keeping an eye on Kiara.

Yes, Zazu was necessary. As SimbasGuard said, Simba needs a majordomo. In fact, every monarch or ruler needs an adviser, so they rule justly within the law. An example of this in the movie was when Zazu had to remind Simba that he must pay his debt to Kovu for saving his daughter because it was "royal protocol".

How do you think Zazu was paid for his position? What did he receive in return for his duties? :-o A stack of 50's? :P

One theory I read in a FANFICTION (that could very easily have been use in more than one FANFICTION by more than one writer) is that as The King's Majordomo it was illegal under the law of The Pride Lands for any animal to eat Zazu. Thinking within the confines of the movie, Serving The King must have come with some reward, I doubt any animal that didn't want to get on the King's bad side would even think of eating Zazu. Perhaps the other birds of the Pride Lands made room for Zazu (basically letting him cut in line) at the water hole because of his position.

Great theory. :D I figured he probably wouldn't be given some sort of materialistic/physical reward as well. :)

I'm glad Zazu was in Simba's Pride as he was one of my fave characters in trhe first film. However I did feel like the character changed a bit, he was very quiet compared to the first one, it was almost as if they didn't know what to do with him. I'm very glad he was there though, it wouldn't be the same without him! :)

I just think he just should be dead, I mean... that kind of birds doesn't live sooooooooo much so far as I know..
If Simba needed a majordomo, they should have made other.
