Are you remarking about Simba's fighting skills?

If you are, Simba is not that skilled, and never taught how to when he was young and growing up. It probably comes from instinct. He also never had the proper strength and food to build his muscles, because he changed his diet to consuming grubs. However, the grubs gave some protein, but not enough to defeat his opponent.

Which he is why he lost to Nala in the jungle, and why Scar managed to hold his own in the fight on Pride Rock even though Simba is years younger, and should have overwhelmed him. By the start of the second film, Simba has the muscles, but still doesn't have the skills, which is why Zira and the Outsiders overwhelmed him in the ambush, and he was outnumbered.
