How could Ma and Uncle Max dig through Pride Rock...

when it is solid rock?

For those who love or hate this movie, we all know Ma and Uncle Max dig a tunnel under the grounds of Pride Rock to trap the hyenas. Ulimately, the trap brings them down to Pride Rock to where they approach Scar, at the same time he was thrown off the cliff by Simba.

But, the thing that occurred to me is how could Ma and Uncle Max dig through solid rock, which is Pride Rock. Like meerkats can dig through loose soil and sand, but Pride Rock is not loose soil. I even looked a website that states "All structures like rocks, trees or burrows are secured so that meerkats can't dig under them and make them collapse."

So, what's your take on it?

Exactly why this movie made no sense at this point. I like the movie but they just make priderock seem like a soil structure.

It was done for the "humor" - just as the rest of the movie. It's another scene that wants you to eliminate your sense of reality if you want to enjoy it to the max. If you don't like to redefine reality, then the scene doesn't make sense.

I understand that the entire essence of The Lion King 1½ is done for humor, and doesn't have the emotional seriousness (with some comedic relief) of the first two films. But, I don't believe you when you state this movie and that scene is supposed to dispel our sense of reality altogether, in your way of thinking, and be humorous. There's nothing I find funny about digging under a rocky, non loose surface that can't dig through by the paws of meerkats.

It's supposed to be a parody of the first film, although I'm not sure if it should be taken seriously as the first two Lion King films.

I think the funny part they wanted to include was how Ma and Uncle Max showed up at that exact point out of nowhere. To be honest, I don't think it should be taken seriously or thought of realistically. But that's only my opinion.

This is my theory. There's a lot of plants and trees on Pride Rock meaning there has to be a lot of dirt somewhere. My guess is there's layers of dirt and rock and Ma and Uncle Max were digging through the dirt, while T & P and the hyenas were on a dirt path.

This is my theory: Ma and Uncle Max have the ability to dig through rocks. ^^

This is my theory: Because kittens

I don't really think the movie was intended to be taken seriously, so it doesn't have to make any sense. xD
