I'd preferably like to know when they were cubs. Also, what did they have in common? What is a good scene in the movie that truly shows how much they care about each other as friends?

Well, in the Elephant Graveyard scene, Nala was falling down that hill of bones when the hyenas were chasing her and Simba. Simba was already on top but he saw Nala falling down. He went down there to save Nala and attacked Shenzi with that scratch. He didn't want Nala to get hurt. As cubs, they both were brave enough to go to the graveyard and check it out.

As cubs they were rambunctious, impetuous and playful.

Exactly what I was going to post. That`moment definatly shows how much Simba cares about Nala.
Also, when the Elephant Graveyard scene ends, Nala whispers to Simba "I thought you were really brave." I think this is very cute, and shows that Nala tried to make Simba feel better.

As for what Simba and Nala had in common as cubs, I`d say: Curiousity, playfulness and a taste for adventure.

I liked when Simba and Nala were backed up in the elephant skull with the hyenas slowly cornering them. I think it was really sweet how Simba stepped in front of Nala and tried to protect her even though he stood no chance against their aggressors. He was like a kid trying to protect his little sister from some big bad bullies ^^

I feel so dumb.. I always thought she was being sarcastic.. Epic fail on my part XDDD

Simba and Nala were generally adventurous and mischievous. Nala wasn't as mischievous as Simba, though. x)
