Is it just me, or are there way too many cubs (Chumvi, Malka, Tojo, Boga, etc.) and way too little male lions to actually father them. The only grown males we come across are Mufasa, Scar, Simba, Nuka, and Kovu, and they all are the sons of the only possible fathers, are too young, have no mate, or already have cubs. I mean serously, where do they come from? I'm sure a few of them are the cubs of a rogue, but all of them? Not likely.

I think the way it is is more or less realistic. At least it's realistic enough to keep up the consistency of the rest of TLK's realisticness. Aside from that it's the female lions who actually raise the cubs. The males just have to mate with the females and there isn't much of a limit to that.

But the point is, there are no available males in the pride. Mufasa was king and already had a son, Scar was disliked by everyone and already had Nuka and maybe Vitani, and then he killed or chased out any unknown males in the pride, and then Simba became king and his cubs would have been his heirs (which was Kiara, and maaaaaybe to some people, Kopa), and then Nuka was too young to father any cubs, and frankly too disturbing, and then Kovu was also too young and didn't have a mate.

One male can and will mate with more than one pride female.

But what male are you talking about? Since I just realized that all the cubs were Simba's friends when he was younger (wow, am I slow), it would have either been Mufasa or Scar's cubs. But as I've stated before, Mufasa was king, and Scar was disliked by everyone but Zira, and they already had children.

Rogues? I honestly have no clue.

There are full of other lions than Scar and Mufasa

But they're all wanderers in the Pridelands for the first time.

It`s not very likely that rogues fathered all these cubs... From a realistic point of view: All the cubs in a lion pride have the same father. So from that point of view, all these cubs are Simbas half-siblings.
But I doubt that is the case in the TLK universe. lol

I honestly don`t think the writers/artists of these books and comics where these cubs appear, have given any thought to who their parents are, it`s just not important to the story. New cubs are fun and interesting and add new dynamics to stories about Simbas cubhood. Who fathered them is kinda uninteresting from a reader`s point of view.. in my opinion.

But I see your point. Lions like Joe and Ni are visiting the Pride Lands for the first time, and so they could not possibly be the father of any of these cubs.. Mega (who appears in TLK6NA) could perhaps be the father of some of them?

I don`t think Scar has any offspring (except Nala, in my theory) and Mufasa is the pride leader. Yes, he has Simba, the heir, but that doesn`t mean he never had any other cubs with other lionesses than Sarabi. Like I mentioned earlier, all the cubs in a lion pride have the same father... But I don`t think TLK is THAT realistic.
