Reguarding Mufasa's death..

What exactly was the reasoning behind Scar slamming his claws into Mufasa's paws before throwing him off? My personal opinion is Scar wanted to cause pain to his older brother before doing away with him. Mufasa could always out match Scar in terms of strength and in battle even declining the chance to battle his brother. I think in this situation Scar had the upper hand and just wanted to get out some hate and anger towards his brother and cause him pain. There's always the guess of that's how Scar latched onto his brother to throw him off, but if you think about it, he could have easily just tricked his brother and acted like he was going to help him only to throw him off. Lol, it's not really a big deal, but has anyone else stopped to think about exactly why it was? To add on to my theory I'd also like to point out (which I'm sure many of you didn't know this) that Scar didn't per say plan to kill Mufasa in that manner. He merely planned to start a stampede and have Mufasa die while trying to save Simba. While being on the high cliffs of the gorge to watch the events unfold it just so happens that he got lucky in ending his brother's life personally by betraying him. Thoughts, comments, etc?

Personally, I think it was because Mufasa was slipping off the ledge, and Scar wanted him to stay alive long enough to have his sweet revenge (aka telling him that he was behind everything and also having the satisfaction of seeing his brother's face when he told him). So he dug his claws into Mufasa's paws mainly to keep him from tumbling to his death, and maybe also so he could feel like he was the one that killed the mighty Lion King and not some random wildebeest. I like your other points though, they do make sense. :P

As do yours, I never thought about it like that. Excellent points indeed! :)

I agree with you. Though I think that Scar wanted this to get personal. There alot of meanings in "Long live the King"
The meanings (from Mufasa's point of veiw)
1) Scar was planning this and was behind this the whole time.
2) Your about to die.
3) Simba's next and there's nothing you can do about it.
4) Scar's going to be King like he always wanted.
5) Scar was evil this whole time and has betrayed you, your Pride, and your Kingdom.

I find "Long live the King" to just be a sarcastic mark. It means what it says, but Scar used it in a sarcastic and almost teasing manner.

I know but it also means other things, like what I had previously listed.
