During the time I spent lurking about here I noticed a lot of talk that Kopa is not canon. He's official TLK so.. what gives?

I'm not starting this one, I'll leave it up to SBS to explain.

Because some people have the mistaken opinion that if a character appears in the books but not the films, it is not canon. Canon by definition refers to Lion King characters so... allegations that non-film characters are false. People who say characters like Kopa are not canon are mistaken, or just have such hatred for the books' differences from the films that they cannot accept the book-only characters' canon status.

This is actually not entirely true. It's a matter of opinion, not facts.

Canon on this website means TLK-related. TLK books are TLK related, so their characters are canon. That is fact deduced by simple logic.

Please remember it is on this website, this does not change the opinions of the author. (Of the post) And also, the website is not precisely based on what Walt Disney Studios; the website is created by Moka. Thus, he just put them to his own opinon, not necessarily to the opinions of Walt Disney Studios.

Half of that post made no sense. Also, Moka makes the context of the site quite clear, thereby defining what is and is not canon.
