Something I Find Odd/Funny...

Okay, I've seen on various lion documentaries that males with black manes are more popular with females than males with light manes. So isn't it funny that Scar has a black mane while Mufasa and Simba's are reddish/brown

Its odd...

That's true, males with darker manes are more attractive than the other way around. it's probably some form of inside joke.

Neither are dogs, cats or deer.. Disney make movies featuring talking animals all the time.

Anyway, in reply to your post, QueenVitani, when it comes to the colour of Mufasas and Scars manes, I think you need you see the symbolism in it. Scar has a black mane because he`s the villain of the story. He`s evil, cold, heartless and downright mean. I mean, you never see Disney villains running around with blonde curls, and a pastel wardrobe.
Afterall, Disney movies are aimed at children, and the symbolism needs to be clear and concrete.

I don't think she was serious PK lol x3

But yeah, it will be symbolic more than anything. If Scar was a sacred white lion or Mufasa colored people would be confused x3

^^ This.
Also, Simba was supposed to be white, really white. But for some reason Kimba he was changed to golden.

lol naughty Disney :teehee:

But yes, you are right. Dark colours (like black) are usually assosciated with evil. Disney villains such as Governor Radcliffe (Pocahontas) and Gaston (Beauty and the Beast) have black hair. Ursula (Little Mermaid) and Yzma (Emperors New Groove) are/wear dark purple.

Frollo (Hunchback of Notre Dame) wears black robes and rides a black horse. Phoebus (from the same story) has blonde hair, blue and yellow clothing and rides a white horse. Pretty obvious symbolism.
