This matter has come up to me recently and I decided to share it with you all. Please tell me what you think on the subject.


Now, in The Lion King II, we all know that Zira intends Kovu to become the "rightful" king of the Pridelands saying that Scar was the one who chose him. What we don't know is if Zira actually had a relationship with Scar, or if she just had an obsession towards him.

Zira seemed slightly insane to begin with, so I would say obsessed. There is no way a lioness like Zira could ever fall in love with Scar, a being who is eternally sarcastic and arrogant. Scar obviously wouldn't ever want to have Zira as his own, clearly indicated by his hate for Simba. {Which either could mean he was jealous of Simba or he just hated kids. Maybe even both...} It is most likely that Zira had an obsession with him and she got so caught up with it and making Kovu become kind she went totally bonkers.

What are your thoughts on the matter? Should I set a poll up about this?

I never thought she had an actual relationship with him, I always got the impression that she was more of an obsessed fangirl. We already know that Kovu wasn't Scar's son and as for Vitani and Nuka, there is nothing that indicates that he was their father.

Maybe that scar in zira was obsessed with him and decided to "fun" in him making children

I have never gotten the impression that Zira loved Scar.. From what she says and the way she acts in SP, I feel she is obsessed, crazy and powerhungry. I think that if she wanted to be Scars mate (there is no evidence stating she was) it would not be of love for him, but to gain a high position in the pride.

It can also be they love one another because they are both crazy...

Well, maybe Zira was one of Scars followers that fell in love with him, and when she got rejected, she went into denial and convinced herself Scar loved her and they were mates or something. Scar died, and Zira, grief struck, saw Kovu as the chosen one? Dunno
