Can I trust in my own heart,
or am I just a part of some big plan?

..and blahblahblah. We all know We Are One. But after having it stuck in my head for hours, I thought of this: What's the big plan Kiara is talking about?

A possibility I thought is that she was talking about the circle of life.
Another one, which seems the most accurate one to me, is that she was talking about kingship-- aka ''Kings and Successions", haha. Being the future Queen is a great responsibility, a big plan indeed.
The least possible one to me is that she suspected that the Outsiders were plotting something that included her.. Oh the irony, she WAS part of their big plan.

What's your opinion about this?

She seems to be questioning her individuality, perhaps the plan she had in mind was the circle of life, but is seems that the succession is most likely. This, however was a line meant to indicate dissatisfaction with her life and Simba seems to believe that it has everything to do with the succession based on what he says to her at the end of the song. He does mention anscestors in the next line though.

Exactly what I was saying, except that I made room for more discussion. *wink* People around here are getting kinda touchy about statements of finality.

I think it was meant to the queenship because before that she said she didn't want to been queen.

I think it's about being a queen too. Like Jelle said, she was complaining just before on how she didn't want to be a queen and she seems unhappy that she didn't get to choose it herself.

I think she's just worried about not being able to control her own fate. It's a simple enough sentiment I think and a totally understandable one =3

I think it was a combination of both OP's first two points. After all, becoming queen means that she automatically fulfills her destiny and is now a part of the Circle of Life. Kiara wanted some say in this, but her fate was sealed. That's what sucks about being born into royalty, lol.

She means Can i be Myself or do i have to be Queen.

I pretty much agree with everyone else. Kiara meant about her growing up to become the future queen and facing her important responsibilities.
