11-year old lion king actress, Shannon Tavarez was diagnosed with leukemia not long ago. She had to quit the Broadway production in April due to her illness. She recieved an umbilical blood transplant and is in excellent condition. She hopes to return to the show as Nala after she fully heals.

That's incredible! It's terrible that she had Leukemia but it sounds like the transplant took very well and that she's going to be able to play Nala again is outstanding! Very inspiring story I think. ^^

They found a match? That's awesome news! I saw it blip on my Google News page about a month and a half ago and was hoping the drive would find a donor.

Thats soo sad! It also must be hard for her family especially at that age
