IS it just me or is it weird that kiara "married" her second cousin? i mean seriously kovu is simba's uncle"s son.
ah well it just befuddles me

Actually they(the LK team at Disney) were at first going to make Kovu Scar's son, but they realized it would be too creepy for a kid's film in America. So they decided that Kovu's dad would just be a random unmentioned lion. Even Kovu in the final cut, himself even said, "Scar wasn't my father but he's still part of me."

Kovu's father is never actually named Zira claims Kovu is hand chosen by Scar to become a King
but never really says if Scar is his father.

Seriously, Scar wasn't Kovu's father.

I guess he could be Kiara's cousin since Zira would be her great aunt but that's only through Zira being Scar's mate. Since Zira and Kiara are not blood related and Scar is not Kovu's father then there would be no incest going on.

It`s stated several times in the movie that Scar is NOT Kovu`s father, like Pixielicious mentioned.
