...that Nala was so much more open toward Kovu than Simba. After all, Simba was absent from the Pridelands while Nala was with the rest of the Pride suffering under Scar's rule. Seems to me that if anyone should be as skeptical of Kovu because of his Outlander origin (and/or similarity in appearance to Scar) as Simba was, it should be Nala as opposed to Simba. Or at least, it seems to make more sense that she would share Simba's skepticism. They both had some bad experiences with Scar.

				Good point.
But I think Nala is just, well, smarter than Simba in a way. And Scar did kill Simba's dad n' all...

I just think Nala is better at looking past appearances. She understood way earlier than Simba that Kovu was nothing like Scar.. "Oh my Simba, you want to much to walk the path excpected of you Perhaps Kovu does not..get to know him and see."
Also, Nala knew that Kovu was just a baby when he was exiled, so he never even knew Scar, nor were they related.

Simba had his father murdered before his eyes, Tricked into bearing the guilt for his fathers death, exiled from the pride and spent most of his life in exile (eating bugs), almost murdered by the hyenas under Scars command.
Nala was forced to live under a brutal regime... but in the end Most of the things she lost due to Scar returned.
I can see why her mental scars healed easier.

I must say, I am new to this site so I might find it hard to understand where you all are coming from, but I don't get why Simba had a problem with Kovu in the first place, he isn't even Scar's son, it seems an accident of birth has once again created a chasm where there shouldn't be one.

I think Nala saw the good in Kovu while Simba wouldn't put Scar in the past.
