I love the influence of Bambi in this movie.. When the idea of TLK first came up, it was said that it was "Bambi in Africa with Hamlet thrown in.. so Bamblet."

The Lion King is definitely a lot like Hamelt and Simba's Pride has been said to be a lot like Romeo and Juliet. Not sure if that was intentional so can't say for sure if it was really based on Romeo or Juliet or if it just turned out that way.

TLK2 = Romeo and Juliet
