It would have been interesting to see more about what took place during Scar's reign, but it would make the movie a bit too long, at least, for a Disney Animated Movie, so I don't think there was enough room in the script for that. Plus, I think the general idea was depicted well enough in the little bits and pieces we were treated to in regards to Scar's reign, so I think it worked overall. :)

I think it would have been interesting to see a little more of his reign, but TLK is after all Simba’s story, and like KM said, the bits we did see of Scars reign were really effective and gave us a good impression of what he was like as king.
Personally, I’d be mostly interested to see how Sarabi, Nala and the other lionesses coped during Scars reign.

Well there was a reason that was left out of the film and not the broadway version you see. ;) Cubbies wouldn't sit well with the fact that Scar was being so seductive towards Nala. Although it would have been interesting to see how the lionesses were coping during Scar's reign, the scene itself would be a little too mature and wouldn't be so interesting to younger viewers imo. All they really like to see is action and fighting. xD

I think it's exactly the kind of the thing that I would want to see on the 'deleted scenes' portion of a DVD: It's wonderful for fans like us who always want more, but it would've made the movie a bit ponderous for those that aren't diehard fans. The scene where Sarabi confronts Scar before Simba makes his reappearance pretty much tells us how things have been going in the Pridelands during Scar's rule.

Oh yeah that’s awesome. I especially love it when the lightning strikes and Simba is standing there all pissed off at Scar.. Epic.

lol, my thoughts exactly x3 plus it wouldn't look very good to Disney if they added in dark parts in their animated films- for example, when Zira was dangling off the cliff from Simba's Pride, she was supposed to commit suicide and let go herself! Suicide = to dark, so instead she just fell. If Disney had put... erm, how should I call it... 'sexual harrasement' in their films, think about all the hate mail they would get from parents!
So yeah x]
