Warning Cap

Hi! Welcome to the Feedback forum.
Before reading anything or asking anything; please check out the FAQs. Your question might be in there. However if you want a better understanding after reading the FAQs, like if it didn't explain it good enough, then by all means ask your question.

Please read the following before posting in this forum...

In this forum you will see an Announcement, and several "sticky" topics. The announcement is the Universal Board Rules. If you are new, read this before doing anything else! The sticky topics will stay above and separated from normal user-made topics in the forum. This is because they outline important information about the board. If you see a sticky topic concerning your issue, please reply with your question or concern in the correct topic. Moderators will see your reply within these topics. Before asking your question, be sure to read the topic and its first page especially. It contains information about your issue that is valuable and may even answer your questions. If the topic does not answer your question, ask your question within the topic, not the forum. If no sticky topic concerns your issue, then you are welcome to ask your own questions by creating a new topic within the forum.

Thank you for keeping the Board Help forum organized!

Warning Cap

Postby SnowyCheetah » May 27th, 2010, 3:34 pm

Allow me to refer to two paragraphs of the warnings section of MLK's Universal Site Rules:
After 90 days of age, an official warning expires from your account. (It is possible to return to 0 warnings on your account after receiving an official warning.)

If you reach 3 official warnings, the staff will deactivate your account. We try our hardest not to give the third official warning, but you must work to improve your behavior just as we work to make it a safe environment for everyone.
There's a loophole here that would allow a user to spread out their bad behavior over a long enough time that they could accumulate well more than three warnings, and produce a lot of bad behavior, without actally getting banned. I'd like to suggest a warning cap. A number of warnings a user can recieve in total, since the creation of their account regardless of the amount of time involved, before being banned. For example, perhaps 10 warnings total would be the limit, or something. What do you guys think?

Frankly this is a non-issue. First of all, warnings are <supposed> to expire in this way, <allowing> members to stay on the forums. Second, if the staff ever feel that a member is being too disruptive to be allowed to stay on the forums, we have no problem banning them regardless of how many warnings they may have accumulated. Thanks for the suggestion.
