Banned members - eventual amnesty?

I was just thinking about those members who were banned not for a bunch of outrageous behavior over a short period of time, but for those who were banned with a somewhat-decent record. Of course, this forum will probably be around for many years to come. If, after years when the member has grown up and, hopefully, grown more mature, might such members be allowed back? Perhaps, on a probationary period?

The staff can decide when a banned member may or may not be unbanned on a case-by-case basis =)

Interesting..
But one thing, just because they've gotten older, that doesn't mean they've grown more mature

Heh, I wondered this too, but I'm afraid there are some people that will never "grow up" completely.

But I guess if the person is truly sorry they might be allowed back *shrugs*

Probably not. Some banned members got their accounts removed from the forum. And if a member has gotten banned, they got banned. They abused their opportunity to be here. They're gone, wether they are grown and mature or not.

Same ^^ maybe a member came here and didn't understand the rules properly? They'd probably get warnings, yes, but maybe they were too... too young to understand? And I'm sure they'd feel terribly sorry now.
However, maybe with some banned members (eg. Musiclion101) =P
Maybe they acted out knowing about the rules (yes Arron, I am talking about you x3)
but they got a bit giddy here and there, so they can have a longer 'bannation' then the others who didn't mean it?
If that even makes sense, heheh

Only one problem with that - what would prompt the staff to take a look at any one case?

That'll be obvious enough when the time comes. We've talked it over since you posted the suggestion. Thanks.
