My concern was that it'd never appear on the recently active threads list. Given that, it's not really very useful for promotion.

You know, now that it's been said, it's survival of the fittest mostly, and that makes sure the best ones are the ones to survive. Maybe we should just encourage better planning and promotion for unofficial contests.
That 2in diameter fart can probably adds at least 50bhp.

That's pretty much the current system aye =3 Though the process of promoting good contests is just letting the rest fade away.
