User Status Messages

I've thought of asking about this before, but forgot. Now I've been reminded again after finding a phpBB mod for it here.

It's a feature that allows members to have a facebook-like status for their profiles. What do you think? I know tlkpf has something like this and I do like it lol :)

You could always just use the Custom Text field for this. ^^ It's basically the same thing. :)

From what I see on TLKPF it's neither a highly used feature nor something anyone really looks at after a day or two. Also as KM said, it's basically just a second custom text. You could even put this in your signature and it'd be fine. We have mood buttons for the same purpose as well. That said, I don't see any harm in it as long as it doesn't inconvenience Moka.

It's used just like the Custom Text field is here on MLK. ^^ or at least, from what I've witnessed on TLKPF, it is. :)

*uses it like that himself*

Unnecessary but doable if the staff (or, moreso, Moka) wants it, methinks. I tend to not put any statuses or the like in my custom text or otherwise anyway as I tend to gravitate toward the "oh, no one cares/reads this anyway" mentality, though that's not to say that everyone else would find it unnecessary as well. I dunno, maybe I'm suffering from forum upgrade burnout. There's been so many topics lately about "let's add this" or "let's do that"... I don't think MLK really needs any more improvin' now. It's fine as is. :)

Not really, I couldn't be doing with the dramatics of constantly changing / updating it. I'll stick to "BRB, G2G" etc. :)

I could look at something like this to make editing your custom text easier. Then the custom text could become your 'status' and people can use it as a status or as they have been using it.
