Per the announcement, we're going to be consolidating the forums to help trim the fat a bit. A 'first draft' at this reorganization is below, so please provide input if you'd like to make any changes before we put it into place!

Consolidating will help us focus on topics and areas that are most active, and it helps the overall forum impression not have sections that haven't seen a post in years.

I don't really see the point of consolidating so much of the forums if I'm being perfectly honest. 
It makes it much harder to search for specific topics, especially in the spamfest known as the Den. I definitely think some sub-forums can be archived but... yeah, not really a fan of merging large chunks of the forum. Here's how I would reorganize it:
