Okay I didn't close the group, I left it running so you guys can still use it if you want to. I did leave though and that makes Sillydog the new owner of the group as far as I know. So contact her if you have any questions or whatever about it as I will no longer be able deal with them, m'kay

Since you said "to a thread" I'm assuming you mean on the forum here? You click on the thread and look. Although if I'm right about what you're asking, this thread is the wrong place to be asking it, as this is about the Facebook group.

You can have an email notification by subscribing the thread you want to. ie. I use it in my Q&A thread. Every time someone answers on that thread my phone notifies me about it
