Several Suggestions

I just recently got some ideas on how I think MLK can be improved. Non of the changes are really big, mostly aesthetics.

1. From the MLK home page (not forums) you can get to all the sections on the site. But once your in the forums, you can only navigate them. The top banner has an image that you can click on to get back to the Board Index. But at the same time, right under it, you see the navigation menu where you can also click on 'Board Index' to get to the same place. So what if the picture were linked to the MLK home-page instead?

2. I think it will be a good idea to create a shortened version of the chat-room embedded in the forum page. This way, you can browse the forums and see what the chat-room is doing without having two windows/tabs open. It might also increase chat-room usage if it will be easier to use both the chat-room and the forums at the same time by having them be on the same page.

I envision this happening by having a small bar at the top showing 4 or 5 lines of the chat. Most likely under the top banner.

3. A bug: In the member search, if you select a letter filter (so that members will get filtered by the first letter in their name), instead of showing a list, I get the 404 Zazu.

What do you guys think of these suggestions? I personally would really like to see some form of a mini-chatroom be embedded into the forum page.

The Top Banner reads "My Lion King Forums" so it should redirect you to the forums :P

That's called a chatbox and KK has already vetoed that idea this past year.

I've noticed that, but I don't know if it's fixable or not. I'll ask Moka next time I see him. In the mean time, a quick way around it would be to sort the names alphabetically and then navigate to the letter.

Also, there is a link to the homepage. It is in the bottom left, and the one that says "My Lion King" on the kissikiakaikasisikiasi or whatever it is called theme.

I mentioned this bug to Moka a few days ago, and he told me he has no idea what the problem could be.

Despite what Noah said about KK rejecting it, I still think that it's a good idea to try out the chatbox idea. Because currently, there is n way to casually stop by the charoom to see if its active. You have to get there and see for yourself. But with a chatbox, you will be able to browse the forums and at the same time, be able to see if anything is happening in the chat.

As for the banner: I found out today about that. It's very small and quite inconvenient. I still think that maybe adding a MLK logo that links to the homepage can be a good idea.

MLK used to have a chatbox at the bottom of the forum homepage and it later got its own separate page (the current chatroom). The chatbox was then removed because it looked messy and redundant and didn't exactly leave new members with a good impression. I think someone (me?) suggested a small chatbox be embedded within every topic of the forum, so members could chat while they posted. But that proved impossible since the script for the chatbox is so messy and confusing. It's the same reason Moka can't add smilies to the side of the chat. Lol I hope I'm remembering this correctly. :P

Yup, you got it pretty much right on the mark.
