Staff Evaluations

I know this idea has been shot down before (
viewtopic.php?f=16&t=9189) but now I think it should be reconsidered. Not that I'm suggesting that MLK has a problem with mods, but I think if members offered some feedback on each of the current moderators, it could help the forum in a lot of ways. These staff evaluations could let a mod know what they're doing right in their job and where they need to improve. So maybe if a certain mod has been inactive but didn't realize it, these evaluations could help point that out for them.

As for specific details, I dunno whether this could be done using polls or a form, or something, or whether this should be anonymous or not. It could even be more of a regular thing, with evaluations being made every 6 months or so. I leave the details up to you guys to decide, but right now I want to know if anyone is cool with this idea?

I'm okay with this idea as long as it doesn't get out of hand, and as long as everyone is being honest and open about their opinions. It could get out of hand easily, so it would need extreme caution. I strongly believe it should be anonymous.

There was actually already something from last year aside from the one Amanda linked about this and Moka made this:
http://www.mylionking.com/feedback/I dunno if it's exactly whut you're asking for but it's something I remembered.
Your feedback can be of any kind. It can relate to the website, staff or any other part of My Lion King.
Yes, it can be used for staff feedback, too. I never saw any links to that page on any part of the main site or the forum, though.

IMO Members are not given enough information about the staff in order for evaluations to really work.
I mean we do not know, who has been doing the most reports, how much time they are spending online, what goes on in staff chats, who is putting through the most ideas or any of that kind of thing. All we really see is the odd post saying "unlocked by request" or something similar to that.
And based on that, I would have to disagree with the idea.
However maybe there could be a workaround in which case I would be fine with it. I would not do it myself though, I think it is a bit judgemental, remember that Mods do their "job" voluntarily, so what right do we as members really have to judge them?

If this idea does go ahead, I think we should steal an idea from Family Guy (If you've not seen it, it'll still make sence, but it's the first and only place I've heard of this idea)
A feedback sandwich.
Something good
Somewhere we can improve
Something else good.
Also, I'd say they have to be well thought out and actually useful. Not just "Annie sucks" Or even "Annie's cool"

The anonymous feedback form can easily be used for this and more. There's a link to it at the bottom of every page on the main site.

Yeah I noticed that after I made my post, I would just use the feedback form if I were going to do this or report problems. Because you would think it would be the easiest way for it to get to the staff too...

Fine by me I suppose. I'd considered the feedback form too but it seemed a bit... confidential. I mean, idk. I'd kind of hoped everyone would be able to see each others feedback. But now that I think of it, it does seem to violate the moderators' privacy. XD
I'm gonna send my own "evaluations" through this form then.

Err.. I guess this could be locked?
