I think it would be helpful to have a glossary of terms and acronyms (if there already is one, I apologize and just can't find it for the life of me). I think it would make it easier to understand what people are talking about. Obviously "SP" refers to Simba's Pride. But to the new fan/member they may not know that "TLK6NA" stands for The Lion King: 6 New Adventures.

For example, I often see TPAM (I believe) in people's posts. I have no idea what it means. So I think a glossary really could be helpful.

I believe this could be very helpful, although I'm sure I've seen an abbreiviation glossary somewhere... It was probably on a different forum, but oh well. Also, TPAM means The Person Above Me

We used to have a dictionary for both forum and TLK-related terms and acronyms. I've added a Glossary to The Lion King Wiki: http://www.mylionking.com/wiki/Glossary which anyone is welcome to help maintain.

But that glossary only allows terms and acronyms that somehow relate to The Lion King. It won't allow an acronym like "TPAM". So it would be a good idea if we could put together a topic for a glossary of commonly used forum terms and then link to the Glossary on the wiki for TLK-related terms.

How about people list some commonly (or uncommonly) used terms and acronyms in the forum. Remember, the glossary page on the wiki can handle TLK-related terms.

I thought of a few:
Avatar (sometimes avvie)
Signature (sometimes sig or siggie)
UCP

I think the glossary should include both the terms related to TLK and the non-TLK terms. Having one master list would be a great central point for newbies to start - I'm not sure how many would know to go to the wiki page to see that SP is Simba's Pride, for example.

OP - Original post/poster
FAA - Fan Art Albums
FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
OT - Off-topic
RP - Role play
OC - Original character

OOC: Out of character. (used in Roleplays to IDE tidy that you aren't speaking as your character anymore. Usually accompanied by double parentheses (also known as brackets)
IRL: In Real Life
TPAM: The Person Above Me
TPBM: The Person Below Me
IMO: In My Opinion
IMHO: In My Honest Opinion

These are some of the acronyms I've seen being used around here.

We should probably include most of the common internetz: lol, rofl, lmao, etc.

I was tempted to include that in my last post, but I thought that we were too literate for that kind of uncouth jargon XD
