Everything on the forum loads fine except the front page of the UCP. It often takes 20 seconds or more to even begin loading, while everything else on-forum is nearly instant. Any idea what's up with that?

No, not really. Everyone's should load at about the same time if we're talking about the front page of the UCP.

Do you perhaps have 500 friends listed?

I've got the same problem.
And with clicking on peoples profiles, it takes forever to load..

Mine sometimes does that, but I guess it is just down to servers being busy or something because it does not consistently, sometimes it is slow by all measures of the word, yet others it is instant.

The page loading will definitely be inconsistent because MLK is on a shared hosting server with other websites that I don't even know about. These websites might be using more of the server's resources at a time and the server just can't deliver instant pages. At other times these websites might be sitting idle and MLK will be very fast.

I tried moving MLK to a private virtual server (no other random websites hosted on same server as MLK), but I didn't notice any noticeable increase in speed. In fact, I think it slowed down. But it was slower consistently

And it's okay Moka, I think we can live with select parts of the forum being a little slower to load than usual lol. *shrugs*

I have this problem as well.

The same happens to me.

Same Here... my iphone loads it 30 seconds but the profiles 1 minute. I Almost died lol but not funny right now.
