Hello, Moka, and all you other staff members. I had a quick question:
What is the difference between Beyond The Lion King and Articles? What makes them different? How do we know where to post?
Thank you. (:

Topics in the Articles section are a lot more in-depth and discussion related, meaning there can be more than one valid side to the argument. Questions raised there tend to be open-ended and never actually resolved. Beyond the Lion King simply features topics that don't really fit in the other sections (usually stuff that spans more than one of the TLK movies, quizzes, etc).
I dunno, this is just based on my experience on the board.

I could be way off, of course x)

Well, I'm not a staff member but if I think I know the difference, although at this point they seem somewhat interchangeable.
I believe the article forums is meant for actual written articles. Since this doesn't really happen much, it's more of a place for serious, in depth discussion of TLK related things. Beyond the Lion King is the catch-all forum; if a topic doesn't really seem to fit anywhere else but it's TLK related, you can post it in there. And I could be totally wrong in this, but from what I've seen of the forum, that's what I make of them. Hope it helps! ^^
Wow, we posted at the same time with practically the same post, Amander. =P

^ Yeh, I remember when the idea for the Articles section first came about, it was meant to be a serious, in-depth discussion place for avid TLK fans. Early posts there used to be very well-written and thought-provoking and were at least a few paragraphs in length. Every single post was supposed to contribute to the discussion in some way or another. It was sort of a basic requirement, but I guess the bar for posting has been lowered quite a lot since then.

^ this. Basically articles are long and structured (though I've seen a lot of posts that are not that somehow making their way into the article section).

Does anyone think the Articles forum is worth revamping at this point? Or can the topics from the Articles forum be moved to their appropriate Lion King forum and we can just remove that part of the board. As people mentioned, it seems both boards are being used interchangeably and we shouldn't have two boards for one purpose.

I think the article section is trivial. I don't know but shouldn't discussion topics' original posts ideally be well structured and indepth in order to provoke indepth, quality discussion on the topic? I did try and post an indepth and structured article about Mufasa's ghost into the Articles but it was denied because there already was a discussion topic related to Mufasa's ghost. It is difficult to come up with anything indepth and structured that doesn't already have a related discussion on the other boards and a lot of those topics in the Articles really aren't much of articles at all and might as well be speculated on the other boards... So, yeah, I think the Articles section is trivial.
