Writing Contest #4!

That's right. Another week has started, and with it another contest.

And for this contest, we have these prompts:

1. The Pridelands right after Simba takes over
2. The very beginning of the Pridelands
3. Kiara and Kovu don't return to save their prides
4. Vitani meets her real father and discovers that Scar wasn't her real dad

Please submit your entries by March 5 if you want to be in the contest. As usual, you may resubmit a story if you want to and it is before the deadline. Same rules apply as before. Keep it clean, keep it under 2000 words. Try to check your spelling and grammar before you submit. And please submit it in a format that has special characters, so that I will know what to bold, italicize, new paragraphs, etc.

Good luck, have fun, and stay sharp!

One week left for submissions, and I have yet to receive any. Come on you guys! You are making me quite disappointed.

I have something written, but I'm really not knowledgeable about formating, especially the kind of code this board requires. What do you mean by the formating needing special characters? What file types would have that, or what would I do to do that manually?

I think he's referring to a format such as .pdf, .doc, or .rtf. Or you could use a simple text document, and format it using BB code (which is the same that's used here).

I'm working on a story, but I might need a bit more time.

rtf or doc file format I can do. BB code is foreign to me, as I ruefully remember every time I fail to embed a video

So I hope it's one of those that'll work.

Write it in a normal text document, such as Microsoft Word or OpenOffice. Special characters are things like bold/italic that will need to be reformatted in BBCode when I post the story in the topic. I need to see it in a regular format so that I can match the submission.

So a Rich Text or .Doc file type would work then?

Cool.

I would prefer a .Doc file, but a Rich text file will also work.
