i’m in the camp that thinks its the best star wars film since empire. Not an amazingly hard feat, but I liked it for many of the reasons people hated it for.

Anyway.

I recently rewatched Bambi.

Outside of a few annoyances (the porgs, the casino scene) it was the most I enjoyed seeing a new star wars film in a long, long time. It didn’t exactly bring back the magic of empire and while the team up fight with rey and ben was cool af it lacked something....

There’s not much in the way of memorable dialogue in the new star wars movies. The OT was littered with cool, quotable lines. The PT was loaded with lines that were memorable for all the wrong reasons. The ST has uh....fairly safe, bland dialogue.

That being said, the sequel trilogy as it is, is so much better than the PT. I wouldn’t say the PT is the worst modern film trilogy, that goes to the hobbit trilogy. I can go on for hours about how they butchered that adaptation.

I think unfortunately it is one of those movies that is enjoyable in the moment, but the more you really sit and unpack it the more flawed it becomes.
