Reportedly an Aladdin spin off for Disney+ is in development. This makes another thing going for Aladdin including the announcement of the Aladdin sequel.
Thoughts?

Uh, no thanks? It feels like a waste of resources giving this minor at best side character his own Disney + series. No one asked for this unless there’s some massive Prince Anders from Aladdin 2019 fanbase I don’t know about...

Was thinking the same. There was quite literally no one asking for it. I didn't even know who it was at first until I saw multiple images lol.

I’m with you all on this. Had it been a Genie spin-off that would’ve been great. I forgot who he was too. Lol. I’ll stick to “Billy on the Street” on Netflix.

Nobody cares about that particular character. He was just a minor comedic relief version of Prince Achmed from the original film. Also, it's troubling there are giving a spin-off series to the sole white character when most of the cast was of Middle Eastern descent.

There’s gonna be an Aladdin 2 and since this guy is getting a D+ series, I doubt he is returning for the sequel.
but I still wonder WHY
WHY
c’mon disney use the money you would use on this and revive Princess Academy for Disney+, that neat looking short they canned when their hand drawn department got gutted 7 years ago.

Princess Academy was a fan-made project from Olivier Ciappa. It was not an official Disney project. That said, it's too bad he never finished it despite the amazing concept artwork he made. It would have been lovely.

I was reading some articles on it apparently it was beginning to get backed by people from Disney but then it eventually died when Disney made the decision to move from 2D.
I feel like it almost made official.

Yeah I felt like it was almost made official.
About the Prince Anders show, everyone in my Global TV class are discussing it now and the same opinions are being made like on this thread so we are all in agreement. There's also the fact that Mena Massoud has trouble landing auditions outside "Aladdin".
