A Quick PSA for Tumblr Users! (And Other Big Websites)

Hey everyone!! ! This is a quick PSA warning my fellow Tumblr users (and other people who use well-known websites) about 4chan raids. I don't know if you've seen any announcements on it from Tumblr itself yet, but I'm going to have a little PSA here just in case. I'm going to post more info under the spoiler because it is not exactly safe for anyone under 13!

People from 4chan are raiding Tumblr tags such as #feminism, #social justice, #LGBT, #equality and also fandom tags such as #attack on titan, #doctor who, #sherlock, and #supernatural with extremely triggering images to some people,
Spoiler: show
These include rape and/or severe sexual abuse, violent animal and human gore, gruesome human and animal abuse, shock/severe horror images, and are photoshopping people's faces into pornography (in some cases these include very young children as well)
Here's proof of some things they are planning [swearing, be warned]
Image
The above image states:

"People go on about “old /b/” so much. Hur dur summer is here, hur dur habbo raids were GOAT.

We have the potential to make this the most memorable raid in 4chan history. If these kids getting panic attacks is real, and not some kind of mob justice mass hysteria, we could legitimately rack up a sizeable body count, disrupt a huge website like tumblr, and potentially even knock it out.

I say every month, periodically, say the 4th of every month, we raid a load of popular tags with gore and animal abuse and rape, and try and trigger them. This could be f----- golden, but we need to work together.
"

I honestly think this is disgusting, people think that this is funny and that they deserve no punishment for it when there are kids, teens, and whoever else suffering because of their actions. This is more of what they're going to do:

This is serious. They are planning to start hacking people's accounts, accessing the people who specifically avoid the tags I mentioned above ^ and posting said images. They are also planning to send said things into people's submit/ask boxes. I suggest turning anon off and closing your submit boxes! This is considered a crime by many and lots are wondering the law should be involved.
I know some people are very triggered by these things and can cause panic and anxiety attacks, self harm, and other dreadful things I do not want happening to my fellow Tumblr users.

Another thing, this is focusing on just these certain people from 4chan, I do not mean in anyway to offend anyone on here that may use this website! I would just like to raise awareness about these psychotic people who think it's funny to do things like this. From what I hear, they're planning to hit other large websites as well, so please be careful! I am very worried about the account hacking and such, so be on your guard and don't go into those tags!
Thank you for reading, stay safe everyone!

UPDATE:
They are now collecting IP addresses of Tumblr users and dumping them all over 4chan. This image was on Tumblr:

This means they can probably find out where you live, or easily bypass any security on your computer or device and hack you.
Please, be safe. If you think you're being too careful, you're probably not. It’s not too far off to say your best safety measure is even to even leave Tumblr/go on hiatus until this is done with.

Damn. That's disgusting! This is very serious and I do think the law should get involved. If you can report posts then do. It's about time 4chan was shut down in all honesty from the amount of c*** I've heard about it.

Why are there people out there like that? Do they have no shame or feelings in general? It's so worrying people can be like that... Argh, I don't even know what more to say about this pathetic situation. I keep hearing things over the years of this website, though I still don't fully understand it and am surprised, like Tsuki, it's allowed to stay. Always consider your security on any site...

Welcome to the internet...

What, am I really the only one who's not surprised by this?

I'm simply trying to make sure the people who use Tumblr and may be triggered easily are staying safe. I've been on the internet too. I've seen this happen before. Some people haven't, and that's why I'm trying to make sure everyone is aware that this is happening and that my fellow internet users stay safe. Some of what the 4chan users are doing is illegal, and I don't want this happening to anyone. I'm trying to raise awareness, that's all.

*Plays "Why can't we be friends" in background*

Well this sounds horrible :/ I don't use tumblr, but I have friends who do, and even though they probably wouldn't be "triggered" by anything, it still isn't pleasant. I'd be a bit concerned to know what other "big websites" they are referring to. I know there was a similar incident on facebook a few years ago when pictures of aborted babies were cropping up in peoples' news-feeds as a result of a similar "atttack". Hope this can be sorted soon :/

I'll let the picture speak for itself. Please be safe people. I'm probably making this into a big deal, and I'm sorry if this is "spam" but I'd really like to make a point here.

I'm a big Tumblr fan, I spend half my day on it. But I get triggered very easily with self harm pictures and anything related to that sort of stuff. These people are basically bullies, taking people's weaknesses and using it. I've been bad with panic attacks recently so thanks so much for bringing this up because I'd have never known. I'll try and be safe and I'll spread the word about it to as many folk as I can. I'm guessing it's still happening? Shocking. These sites are supposed to be there to help people, trolls like this honestly make me question the goodness in the world. Be safe everyone! Don't let them get to you.
