Dragon Age Fans?

Any Dragon Age fans here on MLK? :) I just finished my 2nd play of DA2 this evening and it's got me super excited for the prospect of Dragon Age 3: Inquisition! Even if it isn't going to come out for a bazillion years... :P

If you've played the series, did you prefer 1 or 2? :)

I played them both, though I didn't play the DLC for the first one. The first one bored me a lot more than the second one, but I felt like there was more depth to the characters in that one. I only played through the first one once, and the second one I went through quite a few times, actually. For me, the first game seemed to drag on, especially the Deep Roads bits. The second one felt much quicker. I also much preferred the combat system in the sequel. The main thing I found lacking about DA2 was the fact that the characters didn't get as developed as in the first and you couldn't change their opinions on some things like you could the characters in the first one. For instance, after you go into the fade to help that (half-elf I believe?) guy, I forget his name... Anyway, if you take Fenris with you, and he gets manipulated by the demon, when he's apologizing and realizing that it's not just the mages who are susceptible to possession, it should be possible to convince him not to judge all the mages because they might mess up. But that's about it, basically. Aside from that I typically prefer the second one. Which is not to say the first one's bad at all, because it isn't.

I've only had the opportunity to play DA1 & its DLC through - I do own DA2, but it's too difficult to play/read when you don't have an HDTV, so I gave up after 10 min or so.
:(
From what little I did play, though, I favor the combat system of DA2 more. It's a shame to hear about the character development (or lack thereof) though, as the characters are my favorite part of DA1. Is there at least humorous dialogue?

At any rate, I did like DA1...enough that I've played through it a couple of times and it hasn't ceased to amuse yet.
I really do gotta get myself an HDTV though, especially if there's a DA3 coming out eventually. So much technology, so little money, hehehe.

It's not that there isn't character development in DA2, it's that there's not as much as in the first one. There is humorous dialogue, yes. There's much banter amongst the party members when out on missions just like in the first one, some of which is rather humorous.

It's a shame you couldn't play it much, I quite understand about the TV problem. Hopefully you can get an HDTV and finish DA2, because it is still a good game worth playing through a time or two.

I love the first one! Let me say, All hail King Alistair!

I loved the depth, I love the story, I loved everything! The combat sucked and the graphics aren't the greatest but who cares. The second one had better graphics, a better combat system but it dragged in story/plot and depth. However the second one felt like the beginning of an even greater game with more depth and plot and awesomeness!
