So do we have horror fans here eh? Me...only the old kind like in the 70s, alot of horror these days just have too much gore, and gore is NOT scary, just plain disturbing *shudders*

Anyway here is my top 5

01. THE SHINING - HEEEERE'S JOHNNY! classic

02. Jaws - Sharks scare the bejesus outta me

03. The Exorcist -

04. Halloween - Woo Michael Myers, I love the theme!

05. Texas Chainsaw Massacre - Imagine being chased by Leatherface with a huge chainsaw....

I agree with you about the gore, although some modern movies like "Signs" captured fear, not quite horror and Signs didn't have any gore. I think The Shining is #1 on a majority of people's lists. Jaws wasn't that scary for me, maybe its because I live in Wisconsin, the middle of the country, instead of on the shore.

I haven't really seen many other ones so I can't really make a top 5 for myself

Yea, I dont think Jaws is scary...back then it was definately like a...real horror, now not so much. More like thriller/horror, but since its considered a horror, I put it on my list
Though, sharks really scare me

Not much of a horror fan I take it? Im not really either, Im a crapbag, but those movies dont really scare me...apart from the Exorcist

REC: Never watch this alone in a dark room.

Cannibal Holocaust: Don't eat while watching this.

The Ring: japanese version: Avoid sitting next to a black haired girl while watching.

Ju-on: Never watch it in Japan.

One Missed Call: japanese version: Don't have your phone on while watching.

Whoa, I haven't even heard of some of those. The Ring looks freaky but I've never seen it.

Yeah Ive seen it. But I didn't like it. A killing virus isn't so enthralling as as little girl with a demonic face who jumps out of a dark corner .
