Well since most everyone on this forum loves lions, have any of you seen a movie centered around a lion cub and a boy who becomes his friend? It's the 2009 version of Jungle Emperor Leo (from Kimba) but doesn't have too much to do with the original plot at all. I'm not so keen on anime but I did like the film a lot :) What do you guys think of it?

hm... concidering I got nothing usefull to do anyway, I might go and have a look at it. I liked Leo the jungle emperor though, because its the TLK's ancestor, but I didn't knew there was a 2009 version of it.

I've never heard of it. Surprisingly, a quick Google search brought me right back to this post. XD

I'll watch it later, if I don't forget.

watching it right now for a bit, but I dont really like how they try to make Leo/Kimba TOO cute. Kimba looked alright in the old series but now he just looks like a big mouse or something. But Panja/Caesar looks pretty good.

That's what I thought :P Also this movie just can't seem to nail lion anatomy properly lol. Eliza looks like an overgrown house cat, Kimba looks like a lion-mouse, and his father looks like a wolf-lion :P But besides the anatomical flaws it does look very spiffy as a whole xD

I personally like the tweak to the plot although I prefer the original plot.

I thought I saw a FN P90, although the guns shown later in the movie looked like variants of the FN F2000. Yes, this is extremely important. XD

Overall, I didn't like the animation too much. But I'm not really an anime fan, so I didn't expect to.

The plot, however, was really good. The ending was totally unexpected, especially with Toto. I liked it a lot.
