Well it is a long shot I think, but just in case... Are there possibly any Metal Gear fans who are up for a good old chin wag?

I just started the original Metal Gear Solid. So far it's a very cool game.

I also borrowed Metal Gear for the NES which was pretty cool but confusing.

OMG you have the original Metal Gear? XD
I really want to play those, they are set before MGS1, in the original Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 Snake is sent into Outer Heaven to destroy Metal Gear which Big Boss was designing and constructing. He finds out Big Boss was his father, and Snake is a clone of him, they cloned Big Boss because he was the ultimate soldier, two clones were born from it, Solid and Liquid Snake. In the end though Big Boss is killed by Snake.

Then in MGS1, Liquid and Foxhound create a cloned army of terrorists and use them to take over Shadow Moses, however the clones have damaged hearing and sight, which is why they demand Big Boss' corpse, they want to use his DNA to create an army of super soldiers, and make Shadow Moses into an unstoppable fortress. =)

That is the brief of it at least XD if you play them in the order they are in the storyline then it makes a lot more sense, but if not you just have to remember which is is set where but it is basically...

MGS3 > MGS Portable Ops > MGS Peace Walker > Metal Gear > Metal Gear 2 > MGS > MGS2 > MGS4
That is why MGS4 has so many LONG cutscenes, it literally had to answer for everything and end the story somehow XD, the director went like mad with mental problems trying to put his own story together lol, if you read his twitter around that time he went insane and there was just loads of random crap on there all the timeXD

My friend does. :)

I'll probably own it someday considering I'm a game collector.

Metal Gear is probably one of my favorite franchises. IMO, it has the best story of any video game I have ever played. I actually cared for the characters in this game.
