Which is the better system: socialist or capitalist?

I'm a socialist but NOT a green socialist that every single revisionist left-wing parties in Europe are today. I'm very much against green socialism, just as much as capitalism

All I'm for is dictatorship of the proletariat where the working class has the political power, not the "upper class" government that decides against the peoples' will just because they can. It's oppression

I'm definitely more of a socialist, but I believe both ideologies have their pros and cons.

Lets take the idea of meritocracy - its good in theory and I do like to think that the harder you work the more you get, however, in terms of the UK education system, meritocracy doesn't exist. How can a working class student in a comprehensive school possibly go up against a middle class student in a private school? The answer is they can't - they probably won't achieve as high of grades as them in GCSEs/A-Levels, and private school kids are more likely to get into the Russell Group unis like Oxbridge.

It's all to do with money and class, people. I don't think that's going to change unfortunately.

It's true. Ideally "private" schools wouldn't exist, the concept is disgustingly elitist and prone to brainwashing (in the case of Christian schools, Christian homeschooling and the like. Both science and religion are taught in schools where I'm from, if you want anything more you're not educating, you're following your agenda.)

Meritocracy sounds good in theory but there's the issue of not everyone being able bodied or having the same abilities, we'd have to work around that problem first because otherwise it sounds pretty fair.

Personally I support the Nordic Model/social democracy as it seems to be pretty effective (high taxes but also very high standards of living for everyone). I'd be more than willing to pay my fair share of taxes if they were actually used properly by the government like that, but it's clear that would never work in countries with high corruption.

It brings the class society back up and we are going backwards once again. Remember what USSR officials said in the beginning of 80s about Paralympics? "There are no invalids in the USSR!". Well of course they had them but they weren't classified as such, just as proletariats like everyone else and everyone were on the same line. Also, green socialism is NOTHING like what Karl Marx wrote. It's revisionism at worst and it is not revolutionary socialism but aims for parliamentary republic
