I know there's an "Aladdin" RP idea posted already, but I wanted to post one of my own, partially as a backup and partially because I wanted to try my hand at playing a human character for the first time in several years.

Title: Like an Hourglass

Story: This is set after "Aladdin and the King of Thieves". Some time after they return from their last journey on the carpet, Jasmine learns that she is pregnant with her and Aladdin's first child. Aladdin is overjoyed, but nervous at the same time. After the months pass, Jasmine delivers a healthy son, whom they name "Ali Ababwa". Soon after this, the Sultan becomes ill and passes away, making Aladdin and Jasmine the new sultan and sultana of Agrabah. Years pass, and Ali has grown into a happy and energetic 10-year old. Watching all of this is the evil Mirage, who will stop at nothing to get her hands on the boy. As all of this is happening, a voice, the voice of Jafar, begins to make itself known in Aladdin's mind. This evil voice tries to spread doubt and fear.

Ok, you can have them. As for the Sultan, it's because he's alive for a good while before he dies. I also just realized that I forgot to list Aladdin's father, so I'll add his name when I update the list.

Ok, now we just have Jasmine, Aladdin's father, the Sultan and Mirage to cast and then we can get going.

Also the way you wrote it implied he died shortly after Ali was born.

I'm not forgetting them, nor am I forgetting Rajah and Shahra.

As for the Sultan, he doesn't die immediately. He's ill for a time.

He is ill while Ali is a baby. By the time he's ten, Aladdin is sultan.

OK, so if we're starting when Ali is a baby I got a great Idea. OK, say Abis mal kidnapped Ali, and Cassim helped save him. The sultan could give Cassim a pardon like he did to Iago.

Ok, sounds good. We can then bring in Mirage later. My idea is that she's the one causing Jafar's voice to echo in Aladdin's head.
