Hi,
Just looking for a active place to share pics of a collection of Lion King cards I've been working on since 1994, and hopefully talk a little about the various cards. There really have been a lot more made then the well known Skybox series and I am constantly finding more.
I always liked the artistic style of the movie and wanted to try collecting one type of cards. I had no idea back in 1994 that it would be literally never ending or how expensive it would be over time. But is has been a pleasantly simple kind of fun all along.
(PS. My Avatar is a pic of the back of the rare SB1. It was the first promo card made for the series and was given out only at the Super Bowl. Not too many survived!)

I'm looking forward to seeing your collection and learning more about these cards, I had no idea they even existed.

Thanks, and I do look forward to sharing pictures and some info on the various cards. Because its such a classic film, it is regularly re-used in new ways and so the search is never really over.
The two basic series (I & II) are fortunately very easy to get on Ebay btw, and not very expensive. You can get the basic sets (about 80 cards in a set) for less then $10. The chase cards cost a bit more but can be found mostly in the $1-2 each range. Even the hardest to find when you are looking in packs, the Lenticular Hologram cards can be had now for $3-8 each usually. It's a far cry from the $75.00 each the two Series I hologram cards were listed for, when the series first came out in 1994!

welcome! I used to have many cards but they were one of the things that got lost over the years, probably damaged in one of the floodings in my parents' basement. someday I will hopefully get some more.
