Trials in the Pridelands (Open once again)
Posted: March 4th, 2011, 3:21 pmOk, I apologize for doing this again, but I think I overloaded on characters in OOTPL 2 when Cyrus left. Now, it's no longer fun for me. If it gets going again, fine. But for now, I think I'm gonna try something new that's still an AU but unrelated to OOTPL.
Title: Trials in the Pridelands
Story: This is an AU tale in which Mufasa doesn't die. The story starts out exactly as the real TLK did, with Simba's presentation. A day or two after that, Sarafina has Nala and a day or two after that, Zira has Vitani (Scar is the father). When Mufasa goes to see Scar and Zira's newborn, he walks in just as Scar and Zira are plotting to kill Simba. Furious, He takes them to Pride Rock, where he exiles them from the Pridelands. As for Vitani, Mufasa decides to adopt her as his own, as he knows that Scar and Zira wouldn't be good parents. Before Scar and Zira leave,they are asked what the cub's name is and they tell Mufasa. They then leave, ending up in the Elephant Graveyard, where they meet and ally with the hyenas, plotting to return and retake Pride Rock. Meanwhile, Vitani is raised alongside Simba as his sister and has a comfortable cubhood. Things begin to change, however, when Vitani is an adolescent, she has a chance encounter with Zira (who has reentered the Pridelands to spite Mufasa), in which Zira mockingly reveals Vitani's true heritage. Confused, Vitani runs home to ask Mufasa, who explains everything. At this same time, Simba is beginning to court Nala. Later, Simba, Nala and Vitani grow into adults. The story ends with a massive fight at Pride Rock in which we see a one on one battle between Mufasa and Scar.
