Plot--

(begins shortly after SP)

For reasons unknown, Kovu and Kiara become not only impatient to take over the throne of the Pridelands, but they lose all regard for the values they'd grown up with. Concerned only with gaining the throne as soon as possible, the two devise and execute a plan to dispose of Simba and Nala. Unknown to Kovu and Kiara, one Pride member witnesses the action and informs several other Pride members. Only a few of them believe the witness, and they form a resistance to the new Pride Royalty. For weeks they secretly devise a plan to overthrow the new, corrupt leadership and form their own, new one. But their plan is foiled by sheer numbers as Kovu and Kiara convince the majority of the Pride to take their side, and the resistors are exiled (in order to keep up an appearance of being fair and just leaders, Kovu and Kiara refrain from having them killed).

For years, the exiles live far from the Pridelands, preparing to return and overthrow Kovu and Kiara's corrupt government. When they return years later, only one of the original resistors is still alive, and nearing death. The new group returns to the Pridelands to find only a barren wasteland, a large group of cold-hearted, vicious lions in charge while a small number of lions who know the truth are trapped in the Pride, unable to leave under penalty of death by whoever happens to be taking their shift on the 24-hour watch.

The returning resistance pride must defeat the corrupt lions, or convince them of the truth that their ways are corrupt, and getting them to change.

What's the starting point in this RP? When Kiara and Kovu turn evil or when the "new" resistors come back to the Pride Lands?

The starting point is at the beginning of the conversation Kovu and Kiara have in which they devise their plan to dispose of Nala and Simba. Whoever plays Kovu and Kiara will devise said plan together.
