Pride: Pride Lander as young cub, Jito Pride most of life
Personality: She's a very curious lioness and always up for an adventure. Although she's technically a princess, it isn't a title she really care about much and she commonly chooses things that are more important to her over being the princess of the Pride Lands.
Description: Fur- brown; underfur- dark tan; eyeshadow- light brown; eyes lids- darker brown than fur; paws- dark tan; ear rims- dark brown; tail tuft- dark brown; stripe- dark brown, starts on forehead and ends just past shoulder blades; inner ears- golden, light brown; nose- light brown; eyes- red; build- leaner in width than most lions
History: The second born to Queen Kiara and King Kovu, she is next in line to the throne after her brother Chaka. She remembered little about her grandparents, Simba and Nala, and often asked to hear stories about them. One particular day she was wondering to the far edge of the border, seeking out Rafiki to tell her some of those stories. Five adolescent hyenas, seeing the princess, alone decided to attack. Normally she would've tried to fight, but there was no way a cub was going to hold her own against five. Shani fled, running out of the Pridelands, with the hyenas hot on her trail and sometimes managing to barely scrape their teeth across her ankles. The chase went on for a long time before she finally came across a group of travelers (a tiger, a lioness, a lion cub, and an adolescent lion), and was quickly snatched up by the tiger before the hyenas got the exhausted cub. These strangers quickly helped fight them off, with the exception of the injured one and other cub. She stayed with them awhile, as did the new addition of a cheetah mother and her cub, until a lion from the Pride Lands found her. By this time, the cubs had wandered away from the older lions of the group and the tiger, and the other lion cub's older brother had joined and was supervising them with Maeve. But this Pride Lander lion refused to go home without her, and she wasn't going to leave her newfound friends. After a huge arguement, Shani bolted off, attempting to rid herself of this member of her pride, and was finally stopped by her new friends. She officially declared herself no long a Pridelander and Maeve took her in as her own daughter as they start back to their adventures. The older male came with them as he wouldn't dare face Kovu without his daughter and despite their little pride having low opinions of him, but in a battle against a hyena pack they stumbled upon he was killed. In this process they gained a new member, an adolescent lion, and a valley to call home.
Other: She was split off from a concept character I made in 2004, Kazani. After putting Kazani in 2 role plays that occured during different times and developed different personalities for each, I scrapped Kazani and turned her into Shani and Kazana. Shani incorporates my original plan for Kiara and Kovu's daughter, but with a mostly new design than her old Kazani one.
