Name: Kyra
Species: Lion
Gender: Female
Pride: Pridelander, becomes rogue after Simba returns
Personality: As a cub - She's bold and quite mouthy. Always up for a challenge and practically fearless, she's the only one who has done every dare Chumvi gave her, and even got him to back out of one of hers.
As an adolescent - She has teen angst, so to speak. Her family problems are definitely not some you want to get caught in as she and her father can get pretty nasty with each other. Despite her problems with her father's rule, she takes all her responsibilities seriously and tries to make it up to her pride when a new law makes it hard on them.
As an adult - It's evident that she has the same vicious temper as her father, a fact she isn't proud of if she happens to go off on someone she cares about. However, she has her mother's slyness and is quick to defy her father's orders and create her own. Although more favored by the pride, she doesn't fit in so well and they often worry about her aggressive behavior.
Description: Fur- brown; underfur- light brown; eyeshadow- dark brown; paws- light brown; ear rims- black; tail tuft- dark brown, almost black; head tuft- dark brown, almost black; inner ears- tan; nose- black, hooked; eyes- forest green; build- lanky, somewhat athletic
History: Kyra was born to Kali and Scar around the same time that her cousin Simba was born. Unfortunately, Kali died in a hunting accident while the cubs were still very young. This gave Kyra an understanding of pain and grief early on. Her father was still around to raise her, and she was oblivious to his deadly plans for Mufasa and Simba. Although she had never gotten to know Simba very well, she had lost yet two more family members. After this, she started becoming close to her aunt Sarabi, who seemed more like a mother as she got older. But as time went on and she got older, it began to become apparent to her just how cruel her own dad could be. Kyra tried to help the lionesses out with attempts to convince her father that he should change what he was doing. This was to no avail and led to horrible arguments that everyone could hear within about a mile of Pride Rock. By the time she was grown, she could see that she had lost the father she once knew and that he no longer cared about her. Her arguments grew more vicious and eventually she was stripped of her position as princess. When Nala decided to leave and find help, she was quickly behind her and they split up to cover more ground. It wasn't until after the war and Simba's victory that she returned, and perhaps for the better as she would've killed Scar herself. Once the land was well on its way to recovery, she bid her good-byes to Sarabi and took off on her own.
Other: I originally named her Keyara in 1998 when they came out with TLK2 because if Simba could have a cub, so could Scar. but then I found out Simba's daughter was named Kiara, which is pretty much pronounced the same, instead Tiara like I thought it was. so then I renamed her Kira for several years, only to decided it was too similar in spelling to Kiara. in the past couple of years, I decided to spell her name Kyra after seeing how Kyra Sedgewick spells her first name.
